Yes, I was thinking much the same thing myself. As a question of tactics one might argue that a stance on Gaza could alienate some people who might otherwise be sympathetic to us; but then the kind of people who are pro-Zionist are not, I think, very likely to be on our side anyway. On the other hand, there's just the merest chance that some pro-Palestinian activist might read this very well-reasoned and persuasive essay and think that maybe these sexual heretics can't be such bad people after all - perhaps, even, that they have an argument to make about themselves that might be worth listening to. Well, it's worth a shot, isn't it? |
