Most MAPs who I have met who are not anti-contact are not pro-crime. They think that the laws should be changed or at least reconsidered, but that in the interim people should follow the laws as they exist. Yet the phrase "anti-contact" makes it sound like the opposite is "pro-contact", which would seem to imply that you should be out "contacting" children. Same goes with Virtuous Pedophiles. If the "virtuous" pedophiles are anti-contact, then it would seem to follow that anybody who is not anti-contact is not virtuous. You can question the law without breaking it. Yet I think that nuance is often lost with phrases like "anti-contact" and "virtuous pedophiles". |
