Basically what it comes down to, for sex or for any other thing, is a cost benefit analysis. Does the risk of allowing children to do this outweigh the possible benefits, or do the benefits outweigh the risks? With, say, riding in cars, we generally agree that the benefits for children (being able to go to school, see relatives, and do other activities) outweigh the risks (possibly being involved in a car accident). With voting, or taking out a bank loan, or choosing whether or not to go to school, if we're being honest, the associated risks are serious enough to outweigh any benefits. This is all there is to it. People on both sides tend to not acknowledge this, though. You have the "children can't consent!" retards on the anti- side, and you have the child liberation retards on the pro- side. |
