Boy-girl, rather than man-boy, and that is the weakest argument I can bring up. There's the fact that this is just a song for entertainment rather than anything truly representative of the feelings of all boys everywhere. Note also that the boys in the video could be guessed to be somewhat representative of one small part of one very narrow-minded culture. Another point that has been made here on BC in the last few days is the high likelihood that kids in general don't always know what is good for themselves.. their parents and their surrounding culture make decisions on their behalf, and even force them into those decisions whether they like it or not.. for their alleged benefit of course. But parents can be total fuckups, and so can the wider culture too. And sometimes the cultural outliers can be completely right about what they think would likely be better for the kiddies than whatever they're being subjected to by their predominating culture. |
