Oh, I wouldn't pressure boys into conforming to some caricature of masculinity. If they want to be non gender conforming, then that's fine by me. But many boys actually do want to be boys, and when they find their masculinity attacked they end up becoming followers of Andrew Tate and being horrible to their female teachers. We need to find some way of bringing them up without the sense that their masculinity or their sexuality is being attacked. It's not about constricting anyone; it's about allowing those boys who want to be boys (the vast majority) to be boys.

I'm not sure I understand your second point. It's not my decision to make, because I'm not the Dear Leader (worst luck). Society does make decisions for kids. Compulsory schooling is a despotism on kids. Maybe it should be abolished. That's a whole area of discussion in itself. But whilst schools exist, someone has to decide their composition and organisation, and what more can we do than employ our best judgement as to what is in the best interests of the pupils?
