Blackberries take me back to childhood too

Vacant property next door had masses of them. Me and my brother always came out with a lot of pricks from the thorns, but mum made a pie from the berries plus a bit of apple and it is still a much-desired treat today.. amongst other similar things eg sponge puddings and mum's-style pancakes but most people would call them crepes. I recently got to try the pancakes cooked by someone else but with my own home-made mulberry jam on it (half sugar really).. quite heavenly.

Boysenberry jam is a winner too.. I actually imported some from NZ when I couldn't travel locally to go shopping during the lockdowns.

Debating whether to try to plant blackberry and boysenberry in my yard.. it might be illegal around here.

I give my grapefruit away to anyone around that wants them.
