"This is not what you've said elsewhere"

I am not sure what you are referring to? What have I said that is inconsistent?

But if you are trying to say that I am being inconsistent because I said it maybe "harmless" for a stereotypical male.... that just argumentative bullshit i.e. "nitpicking".

Of course, you have to take developmental factors into consideration. There is a big difference between a 3-year-old and a 7-year-old developmentally or between 7-year-old and a and a kid going through puberty.

But of course as I have tried to explain to monkeyLostInHead on numerous occasions that we don't start out as a blank slate either. We all have a set of predispositions that also interact with our environment (more or less). And as we move down the path of life, these predispositions become more pronounced. Though admittedly that is a oversimplification of a very complicated process but is all practicality, that is how it works.

However in this case, we are talking about a "patter of behavior" based on a "faulty belief system" and not a genetic predisposition.

You know you can say these people were bad parents (and they were) but I don't think they set out to kill this kid... they were idiots who thought they were doing the right thing in teaching a 3-year-old to "Man Up".

Plus, if I had to take my best guess on this case, I'd say the initiating problem in this case was that he was 3 and not potty trained. That they were trying to force him to be a "big boy" and he was not developmentally ready for that.... kids develop at different rates and many boys are slower to potty train then girls or even their peers.

Like I have often said, "it is not a one size fits all world."
