I've been informed that current policy is to enable registration when opening the chat. It is automatically disabled after closing.

I've only recently started volunteering again after a 10 year hiatus, so I wasn't aware of the new policy.

Please check the main page for the chat schedule. You should be able to register and join the discussion when the chat is open.
