I have no time or patience to read any religious text from cover to cover, and nor do most religious people it seems.. there's so much useless junk in there so why would I waste my time unless I were a historical scholar of some sort. There are other people who can do that sort of thing and give us the skinny version along with their personal analysis so that we less-interested people can get on with other more pragmatic things.
