The God Delusion is of the most inept and dishonest books ever published by an influential scientist in recent decades. Pure shite, dishonest from top to bottom, beginning to end.

No one "prevents" anyone from reading Dawkins, by the way (though some might recommend against wasting one's time); don't know where you got that idea. In fact, in defense of orthodox Christianity, I would actively recommend that Dawkins' essays on religion be discussed by everyone, exemplary as they ultimately are of shallow dogmatic scientism, crossed with and emboldened by intellectual laziness.

Dawkins is to theism as Finkelhor is to pederasty. They've both lost the thread and are now constitutionally incapable of knowing what they've lost.

I will say that Dawkins has been exceptionally and bravely reasonable on certain points regarding "child sexual abuse." We should commend him for that, and we should acknowledge the value of his cutting across the grain. But his atheism is, in the end, as ethically bankrupt as Finkelhor's pseudo-relativism.

Two sides of the same coin, these two.
