Being versus identifying as

Welcome aboard.

Probably if you had said you began "identifying as" as BL last year you wouldn't have gotten all the pushback. Or maybe you just would have gotten different pushback -- we can be a pretty contentious group here and the whole notion of "identity politics" pushes some people's buttons.

We all go through a process of dealing with being BLs, or recognizing that we are BLs, or whatever you want to call it. When I was 13 I knew I had the hots for my best friend's little brother. On the other hand when I was a high school virgin I still kept telling myself that maybe I wasn't even gay, maybe once I had sex with a girl I would somehow get over it. (Well, this was a long time ago when the stigma of being gay was a lot worse than it is now. I think I was in my mid 20s before I even could conceptualize that there was something called being a boylover that somehow differed from just being gay.)

Anyway don't feel you need to apologize for your intro. It was fine.
