"how does one actually cope with this or accept themself?"

No idea. I don't think I ever had the need to "accept" myself in the first place.

When I was a kid I was raised within Christianity so when I started noticing that I liked other boys my reaction was purely selfish: I wanted to eliminate my homosexual thoughts only because I didn't want to go to hell. As soon as I dropped religion I stopped worrying about all of that. No "self-acceptance" was required because my only concern was the external threat of punishment. And as I gradually realized I also liked underage boys my concern was simply to not get found out, so getting over that was simply a matter of overcoming the self-consciousness that all teens deal with. No one's going to read my mind and find anything out, so there's nothing to worry about. And because my own thoughts are transparently visible to me I had no reason to adopt the view that pedophiles are monsters who'll crack and act out eventually. Never understood why anyone would adopt such a view to the point of not even trusting themselves.

The only thing AI art changes is the ability to create your own art. Cartoon porn has existed forever and Niklas and Friends is an early-internet classic. Though anecdotally it seems to me that shotacon used to be gayer back in the day. Today if you look for shota it's mostly hetero pairings of boys and women and I used to think that the term itself originally meant man-boy shota. Oh well. Now I can make myself whatever kind of boy-erotica I like... if I ever get around to it.
