I think it is since there's lots of stereotypes of BLs immediately being violent rapists.. so maybe some of it stems from fearing that you'll become those kind of people. Or the more obvious being caught and outed as such.

That's how I thought at first when I realized I was a BL last year. Just realize that just because you are a BL doesn't mean you have 0 morals and wouldn't still act like an average person.
