They are also famous in France for having secretely changed a law before the vote, so that the part of the article which would have allowed authorities to ask for their dissolution had disappeared once it was officially voted.

They visibly have some very powerful connections in many institutions. Not many people dare mess with them. Maybe they could qualify as the most successful mafia ever ;)
