Dillon gave a couple of interviews and he wasn't fatherless. I believe his dad was someone who came around every now and then. The dad is a business owner. I think Dillon saw Antonio more of an older playmate than a father figure.

Also, Dillon never turned Antonio in. Antonio was sharing his Spongebob videos with some other guy and the other guy started sharing on the web. The Spongebob videos went viral. That drew attention of the cops and Antonio fled. The cops were able to identify Dillon and blindsided him at school like they did with the Beaver Dam boys. Dillon had no other choice but to trick Antonio to coming back to Utah so the cops could arrest him.

The Beaver Dam boys said the aftermath was the most traumatic experience of their lives. They were treated like pawns to secure a conviction and used to get promotions by the cops.
