Normal usage for surfing/file-trading like anyone else, but also offering torrents via qBittorent for BL stuff on another computer, and I could run a low-resource web server for a simple website too (hence wanting a static IP for both, tossing up between dedicated or shared). Basically what I've done is 'crowdsource' opinions by just checking a number of websites. Of course they could all be wrong but generally certain names float to the top repeatedly for good reason. We all want privacy for our activities, but I wont go overboard for it. I'm not hacking the Pentagon or anything. Nord details their protection methods well enough for my liking, including the usual killswitch if the secure connection falls over. There's a lot of jurisdictions that I wont touch too, especially if it is still strongly tied in some way with a colonial power like any of the Five Eyes countries or any of the current baddies who like to eavesdrop too much (unless I think they wouldn't care about my activities). And any nation where I know already that they have a reputation for pursuing pedos - Sweden and Switzerland are among those countries that I think we should be careful about. Panama has a long-standing reputation for non-cooperation on a variety of things and they're not pushovers for those aforementioned countries - their reputation in this regard is valuable to them. All aimed at slowing things down rather than stopping a determined effort. Incidentally, re Proton.. I was looking at the situation with their email service only a couple of days ago.. not for myself even.
