Rule #1 -- NEVER search for, view online, or download child pornography, or any other prohibited things (depending on where you live). NEVER!

About being profiled by Google: Can you be perfectly safe?

Probably, if you use Tails or some other operating system that leaves no trace of your Internet activity on your computer.

BUT -- see:
"Tails is safer than any regular operating system. But Tails, or any software or operating system, cannot protect you from everything—even if they pretend to.
The recommendations below will keep you even safer, especially if you are at high risk..."
https://tails.net/doc/about/warnings/index.en.html

YouTube IS Google. If you view any videos mentioned on BoyChat, Google is building a profile on you. Haven't you noticed the Google suggests similar videos after you've viewed BoyChat-recommended videos? Google is "profiling" you. And you really can't stop them (Tails helps, but is not perfect.)

Notice that in my post you're responding to, none of the searches include the words "nude," "naked," etc.

Those are dead giveaways!

But remember Rule #1 -- NEVER search for, view online, or download child pornography (or even anime/manga, or even text descriptions of sex with children, depending on where you live). NEVER! (If you view something online, you are downloading it, because pretty much everything is in your computer cache, somewhere.)

To be perfectly(?) safe, you should never connect to the Internet. You should never have anything to do with minors in real life. You should never look at minors, talk to minors, be near minors, etc. NEVER be a "Big Brother" to a troubled boy -- he could turn on you if he gets pissed off, and lie -- then you are fucked.

But that is being TOO paranoid.

But even avoiding all of those things, are you still safe?

No.

If someone wants to fuck you up, they can make an anonymous report that you are doing something illegal -- with boys, or with images (depending on your country) and that may be enough for a search warrant (depending on your country) so the LEO may be able to do a forensic search of your computer/mobile phones/tablets, etc.

Or, worse, someone who wants to fuck you could e-mail you child porn, and you, without knowing it, open the e-mail. BUSTED! (But in some countries, if you immediately report this to the police, you will be forgiven -- BUT the police may still do a forensic search of your computer, and other devices, and if you have done anything you're not supposed to have done, then you're in deep doo-doo).

If you NEVER search for/access/view/download kiddy porn, the LEO will have nothing concrete to use against you (but note the above warnings). But there have been cases reported of the LEO planting "evidence" on your computer, but it is difficult to know if those reports are true or not.
AND:
If you never do anything illegal with boys, you are probably safe.
BUT:
Boys can be coerced by LEO to say you did illegal things with them, even when you haven't (depending on which country you live in).

Another thing -- NEVER chat with anyone online (using any social sites, or any other means of communicating over the Internet) about sex with anyone who tells you, or hints that, they are a minor! You may be talking to a real minor, or it may be a "sting" to catch "pedos". (And if you send any images of sexual things to someone like that whom you are chatting with, then you will almost certainly go to prison.)

If it's a real minor, someone may be monitoring your conversation. (That is common.) Then you are fucked.

If it is a sting, then you are fucked.

In a nutshell:
Don't do anything illegal, either on the Internet or in real life!
Don't make enemies who might want to fuck you!
How about praying to your god? I don't recommend prayer, because unfortunately, it doesn't work.

But how paranoid is TOO paranoid?

Come on, most of us are wankers who need visual materials, text materials, or other stuff (like talking to boys) for our fantasies. So we take some chances. That's OK, but if you are unlucky (which happens sometimes) then you still can get in trouble.

It's best not to live in the "Axis of Evil" countries, where LEO are actively trying to catch us. Your chances of having legal problems are fewer in countries other than those.

Rule #2: NEVER TALK TO THE POLICE ABOUT ANYTHING AT ALL! Give your I.D. information (if required by law where you live) then SHUT UP!

Rule #3: Teach any Young Friends you have about rule #2.

So, what have I forgotten above? Who can add something useful to what I have mentioned here?

M.
Who knows -- someday your "smart" refrigerator may report that something is "uncool," and you could even get in trouble for that!

... and reading some of those books should scare the shit out of you if you do illegal things using your computer.
