Actually I was thinking about running a campaign based in a Nifty story I found, Kovzland. (See the link below :-P ) As for my game itself, It used to take me an hour before the game to set up the room the way I wanted it. Speakers, monitors, an overhead projection monitor pointing at the playing table. I'd go all out to make the game more than just what you saw on the TV show. in my game, I provide information through audio clues, and video clues, as well as telling the story to my players. If you miss the sound of the twig snapping over your left shoulder, you could get killed :) and then the projector overhead allows me to project maps and battle layouts on the table, rather than drawing them out at game time (which I always felt slowed the storytelling down.) See, for those who see D&D from the outside, D&D is a nonsensical game with pen, papers, books, and Dice, that nerds like to play. When seen from the inside, It is a cooperative story told by everyone around the table. Oh, and I hate to say it? it's a fantastic way to be able to spend 8 hours at a whack with a group of YF's! (My games usually started at 2PM and ran until 10PM many times with YF's spending the night crashed out around my living room :) What could be better? boys acting out their characters while hopped up on sugar and junk food? :-P Psyco |
