Haven't you thought of the political factor involved? Your question, of I guess the psychological aspect of the why, ignores the fact that in different times there is the political aspect of things. Back in Ancient Greece the political power lied with boylovers. So teleiophiles were oppressed. It has nothing to do with WHY teleios were so back then, what mattered for them is that they were oppressed and seen as a lower cast than boylovers.

Same for us now. It doesn't matter WHY we are so because the political power is not with us and we are oppressed anyways.
