I agree with everything you are saying. Getting your emotions under control means that you reach a level of emotional maturity where you are able to see that you are flawed and that so is everyone else. You stop holding others responsible for things in the same way. You stop expecting people to be perfect. You begin to recognise that if you were born as teleiophilic and went into law or policing you may have the same hatred of paedophilia as they do and for the same reasons. I do not suggest that in the midst of a tragic situation like being let go from a job someone can simply enter a Buddhist state of calm and composure. Not at all. But that with time and on reflection you can channel anger in productive directions. Jessy wants everyone to hold on to their anger until it destroys them from the inside like it does with him. But this anger is impotent and makes you susceptible to believing anyone purporting to be against those things you are against. That is why people like Jessy are so easily conned by Qanon and Alex Jones into believing utter rubbish. Just like gullible fools are lured into religious hogwash by some charismatic preacher and give him and his ministry all kinds of money. Being angry at injustice and then rising above it to make your life or the lives of others better is a wonderful thing. Jessy neither exemplifies nor advocates for that approach. |
