I can only speak from a UK and Czech perspective apropos Europe, but I know that accusations of rape in both nations are among the least likely of reported crimes to result in prosecution. And those prosecutions are among the least likely to result in convictions. I don't know if that's fair or not. I don't know the proportion of rape allegations that are bogus compared to allegations of rime in general. But I do know that it's false to state that people are convicted of rape (and indecent assault etc on a whim. I there's a witch hunt going on for those, like us, who are simply attracted to younger people (and, of course there is) then we need to stand together. If that hunt is for people who hurt and harm others in insidious ways, then all is well. Let's not conflate the issues here, please. |
