Nice piece as always. I agree strongly with the main point, but I have a quibble. I'd say that true, fully reciprocated love (which does happen sometimes, between boy and man); and the fact and sense of belonging to a community, forming an integral part of it and making contributions to it; these two things, especially taken together, can create a heightened sense of pleasure greater than alcohol and drugs. These days, there's a lot of obstacles to these things, for bl's. But I recommend them over drugs any day. Easier said than done, yep. "But if you try sometime, you just might find . . ."
