„It is far too easy for an opponent to counter with examples of behaviors evolution favors that are very difficult to defend as not being harmful.“ Is it really that easy? Is there a single characteristic that nature intended for the average (!) person and that it is both damaging and traumatizing for this average person? I don't see anything there. Nature has not programmed humans to become alcoholics or overweight or drug addicts. All of this happens, but it only happens to a minority of people and not to the average person. Nature has programmed males to have a strong desire for sexual acts with other people at age 13. This desire is 100 percent natural and 100 percent normal. Why should a completely normal and natural and typical behavior be traumatizing and harmful? I know of no other example for a charcteristic that is at the same time „planned“ by nature and traumatising/harmful. Ofcourse pedophobia can be harmful and traumatising after such sexual acts, but that is a different aspect. |
