I don't think society recognizes the damage, harm, and cruelty it imposes in it's hysterical, absurd and dramatic "outrage" and punitive instance that it demands.

It is so far to "one side" that it leaves no rational left to be considered.

The topic is so toxic and disproportionate to what's entailed in the actual act that society lets itself be brainwashed, and thus demands the harm it does in judicial punishment.

If justice wants to retain some oversight and ability to prosecute, that's fine... but for every case of passion play under 18 / 16yo to be be treated with just a standard 10 years of incarceration, and a title of sex offender for life! ... Any normal brain, any human with half a heart should be outraged at such a law.

but we aren't, collectively there's an attachment, or "sick affection" to guaranteeing ("us") ways to be cruel, and vindictive, we take a kind of cheerfulness in being blind and administering punishment. (overseen and endorsed by the faculty of psychology, and it's PhD "scholars")

Law and Justice is just an interpretation of a living will of the collective people... It simply reflects the rules of existence in a geographic boundary, and how it allows itself to deal with offenders.

Things have changed, and will continue too... I just find it overwhelming that this generation (past 40 years) have been so opportunistic, partisan, "high flying", debt gobbling, & hysterical etc... I'm just "grossed-out" living in the wake of this Goliath shitting machine that just tramples and devours what ever...

Not at all a generation of intellectual, humble, people... I mean just look at the White House, and the options for President this fall... are you kidding me!? that's the best the USA has to offer?

Anyway, the need to punish is HUGE and society needs it's (plentiful) reasons to give them their "fix"... Boys being erotic just happens to be one of those "acts" they have chosen to get all "Tarzan like" and united in disgust and freaked out anger.

plus it pays a nice "dividend" for many, as they award themselves 6 figure salaries investigating, and prosecuting the act of love.
