Déjà vu tripping

Posted by coonigan on 2018-February-20 11:03:41, Tuesday

Déjà vu is the feeling that the situation currently being experienced has
already been experienced in the past. It's unmistakable for instance
that we've experienced the situation in a dream and promptly forgotten it
until a situation exactly the same comes along, we just know that we are time
travelers, that the future exists long before we get there as the past has
not rotted away or magically disposed of itself.

I once attended a screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show at night with
friends, I'd never been to this theatre, it exclusively played the same film
every night for years, it had a cult following, people dressed up like the
characters in the movie and they would speak the lines before the actors, it
was kind of spooky and the perfect night for Déjà vu.

Anyway we were out in the dimly lit foyer at intermission when I experienced
the feeling that the situation currently being experienced had already been
experienced in the past!

If I didn't take Déjà vu seriously before I did now. And that opens up a lot
of questions about the nature of time and our relationship to it.
