Culture dissonance.

One of my friends, who is new to an English-speaking site, began to cheerfully discuss his own sexual experiences with his babysitter with a guy from United States. However, he feels that those experiences had a positive impact on his life and he continued to see his adult friend even after he became an adult himself and supported the babysitter until she died.

However, the guy he was talking to didn't respond well and said that the babysitter could have gone to jail for that, for crossing some lines, but my friend, who doesn't have a complete grasp of English language, took that as in insult, because he still has lingering loving feelings for her even after she died. But that wasn't an insult, just concerned words. I'm sure that the thread owner didn't know how to react, other than stressing it's illegal, because it's not every day that someone just jumps in a thread about child sexuality to say "I had a positive sexual relationship with my babysitter from age 6 to 12 and she did this and that."

I had to explain things to both sides and I hope this is setled. I took that as a good opportunity to lecture my friend about pedophilia and the sex hysteria in most of the Western world.
