BLs have been at every moment in gay history.

Always worth a link is https://philiaresearch.wordpress.com/2015/02/09/minor-attracted-figures-in-history/

John Henry Mackay was a BL and was an activist long before Magnus Hirschfeld came along. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Henry_Mackay "Using the pseudonym Sagitta, Mackay wrote a series of works for pederastic emancipation"

Oscar Wilde was together with a 15 year old boy and nobody would deny (read post till the end) him being an influential figure in gay history.

Then came Harry Hay, founder of the first homosexual organization in the US and also a supporter of NAMBLA.

NAMBLA is part of LGBT history https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_LGBT_history They're memntioned.

Or look at the event that is often considered the most important one for gays in modern history, the Stonewall Riots. Allen Ginsberg was there, a later member of NAMBLA. Watching the documentary Chickenhawk he was also most probably a BL. If you think he only played an unimportant role, well, you can see they even framed one of his quotes there https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stonewall_riots#A_second_night_of_rioting

In that article Craig Rodwell is mentioned as well. He is the founder of the The Oscar Wilde Bookshop which was the first bookstore devoted to gay and lesbian authors.

When you look at this article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oscar_Wilde_Bookshop
They highlight Rodwell saying "I wanted a name that would tell people what the shop was about. So I tried to think of the most prominent person whose name I could use who is most readily identifiable as a Homosexual by most people, someone who's sort of a psuedo-martyr. And Oscar Wilde was the most obvious at the time, so I called it the Oscar Wilde Memorial Bookshop."

This quote is stated there without any objection whatsoever. Meaning: Someone who was in a relationship with a 15 year old boy was the "most obvious" homosexual at the time of the Stonewall Riots.

Granted, Stonewall wasn't the only epicenter of activism around that time, there was also San Francisco with Harvey Milk. But wait, would you look at that: Milk was in a relationship with a 16 year old boy when he himself was 32.

Ever heard of Jim Kepner?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Kepner
"historian William Armstrong Percy III wrote, "the Gay rights movement had three remarkable pioneers. Two — Harry Hay and Dorr Legg — have long been recognized, whereas the contribution of the third — Jim Kepner — has never been adequately documented…""

What does this have to do with BLs? Well, Jim Kepner once said at the 10th international NAMBLa meeting in LA: "half of gay history is pedophile history." Although he believed "boy love to be a beautiful tradition connected with many of society’s highest ideals" he
urged restraint of sexual expression in the face of the current AIDS epidemic. http://hubertkennedy.angelfire.com/BL-Reviews.pdf

This website is by the way as the name suggests by Huber Kennedy, a gay activist, and is linked from the Wikipedia page about him https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hubert_Kennedy

Being gay has always also meant being a boylover. If anything, being gay means much more being a boylover than being a manlover. The manlovers stole the word from the boylovers.

It's about time we claim it back.
