Some nineteenth-century Iranian raging queen dined out on that one a few times, I bet. The disappointing thing about most Iranian boylove stuff that I've seen, especially the Qajars, is that their standards of beauty were almost the opposite of ours (meaning mine). They liked their boys mahru (moon-faced) and nearly obese, ideally with zulf (downy cheeks) and khatt (downy moustache). Often they're depicted with eyebrows that meet in the middle, as well. The same standards applied to women - photographs of the Qajar kings' assembled harem are really quite something I'll spare the delicate sensibilities of our members a direct link. I don't ask for stick-thin blonds, but there are limits. |
