Not up G's alley i think but....

...the two that worked best for me have been Ambidextrous by Felice Picano and Diary of a Dirty Boy by Luis Miguel Fuentes (the latter a collection of stories). Both depict the boy I would love to have been but emphatically never in the remotest way was (and I concede had I been I might feel very differently....).
