It's a good thing that you are getting over the jealousy.

One last thing, you said "The problem, though, is that this guy kind of encourages him to do that.", and that's what I am saying, do you think this guy doesn't know his limits? Maybe it's not so much your nephew who needs to learn his limits, maybe it's this guy who does.
