It's another one of those taboos, sex with the terminally ill, made double by the fact that it's a child, that probably shouldn't be a taboo but is because it's an uncomfortable subject. It's like the topic of special needs kids and sexuality. It's one of those forbidden topics. However, I'm sure others have thought of things along this line before. This isn't exactly the same thing, but I read this odd book once called A WIDOW FOR ONE YEAR. The beginning of the books deals with a family in which two teenage boys are killed in a car accident. The mother feels so guilt about the younger one dying a virgin that she ends up having an affair with a teenage boy who physically resembles him, hired by her husband for that specific purpose. I think it was by John Irving. |
