You know that's quite unlikely to happen, Nathan. Face it, in order for the Libertarian Party to survive in mainstream America, let alone be a viable option for office, they have to intentionally distance themselves from extreme movements, like ours. If it were known that they supported a pro-reform position—one which flies in the face of the dominant narrative, which says even owning child pornography is (indirectly) abusive—then there ain't no way they'd ever be taken seriously again. In the late 70s and early 80s, the early LGB movement (transgender people weren't "officially" added on until the 90s and 2000s) and the radical Left re-positioned itself to gain social currency with mainstream, right-wing America, and in doing so destroyed any present possibility we have of influencing politics from that position. You'll just have to start your own platform. |
