Hey everyone, so far, we have won more games than we've lost and the games we are winning, we are winning by a large margin! The great pitcher I have (whom I called Dynamite in my previous post)....he has pitched complete games, racked up a lot of strikeouts of opposing hitters and is a real strike thrower. He's also one of the better hitters on the team as well. Sparky continues to be his exuberant and hyper self. He really gives it all he's got as he beat out an infield hit in one of the games and nearly beat one out again recently...running so hard that he actually tripped over the first base bag because his legs were running quicker than he could balance. After that, he came into the dugout and showed off his dirty uniform as I complimented him on his hustle. He proceeded to mention how the dirt had flown into his pants when he slid. He also then said this to Dynamite while also illustrating how it happened as he pulled open and down the front of his pants a little to show how the dirt had gone in....sadly I was not closely monitoring at this time. Haha. Additionally, at one point in the game in between innings, he thought it might be a good use of his energy to climb the fence! My long haired catcher R did a great job in his first game catching and in addition to getting on base, he showed excellent toughness behind the plate as for whatever reason, when one of the players on the other team let go of their bat, it hit him right in the shoulder, but he quickly recovered and had a smile and joked about it a bit later. He also did a nice job of fielding when he wasn't at the catcher's position. My other catcher is quite the hard hitting player. There's another young man who plays infield that had been struggling at the plate but in the most recent game, he got a 2 RBI hit and was obviously well pleased with that. He seems to be a bit of a mischievous sort as well and is into sort of like rap culture and such in the way that he likes to use slang, etc. He's one of the smaller players on the team. It's going well so far and I'm enjoying it |
