When someone puts a spoonful of cinnamon in his mouth all the saliva is absorbed instantly, turning the mouth dry and powdery. That dry powder finds it's way up to the nasal cavity and if inhaled irritates the lungs, causing the urge to cough. The danger is that the dry powdery cinnamon will be sucked into the lungs, especially on the inhale portion of the cough, coating the lungs with cinnamon. That's why the person pukes. But a boy with strong gag reflex control and breath control can finish the job apparently. |
