Relax! If that is all that happened then it could be many different things.

Just what does 'hardly did anything' mean?

Did the internet come back on by it's self soon after?
Did you have to reboot your router?
Did you have to reboot your game console?

I don't know much about game consoles or how they connect to the net (OS. I am guessing something like android though) but if he was JUST chatting with you and NOTHING illegal was exchanged and then things just shut down... nothing to worry about.

Could be...

Your internet service got interrupted (ISP)
Your game console just quit it's connection.
Your WiFi lost signal for a while....

No big worry.
