| ...and I went to a restaurant. It's a pretty well-known place actually. A lot of people were there. There was this band playing and this small golden-curly-haired boy with pouty lips, enormous and expressive eyes, fair build, and bare-legged with apricot skin (six years old, it was later revealed) got up and started dancing with this serine, sensual energy, swaying around and bouncing his hips near the tables. I was quite close to the stage, and he came very close to where I sat. There came a point where he made direct eye contact with me. I acted casual and disinterested, but, in reality, I was summoning all my energy to not collapse. It turned out he was the lead singer's son, and, after the song was over, he introduced him to the crowd. Later on, when he was leaving the boy turned around and stared at me, smiling abd waving goodbye, while I just looked down at my straw and tried not to meet his eyes again. That was one of the first times I started to realize what I am. |
