Stingray are very common. They are devices that are acting like cellphone tower, so they easily get all your information.

From what read, the technology that was once reserved for the FBI has been acquired by many police forces and been used in a form that is quite extra judicial; up to a point there are discussions about strongly restricting their usage (not by local police).
