What a waste of time spinnin' wheels! Thank God I live and practice in America... Say what you want, but in this country you have the right to a speedy trial. (Not to mention the chance of lost records, lost police interviews, faulty memories, death/disappearances of witnesses.....wasting the taxpayers' money...) In my county, at least, if a defendant demands a speedy trial it usually will held within 90-120 days. Its up to the prosecution to work their asses off to make sure they're ready...not always possible. In that case, we have to go to war with the army we have. That results in one of two things...A motion for dismissal by the defense, (usually granted), or a humiliating loss for the state and acquittal for the defendant. Jeopardy attaches and you cannot retry...even if a video surfaces showing you killing the victim. Kinda like OJ's book "If I Did It", which AFAIC was a confession... Sleeps by day....rides by night, like a mongrel always lookin' for a fight..... |
