If Milo is trying to see unfairness in his being pilloried for what Sulu can get away with, that's sort of rich. He is getting slammed for deviation by the priesthood of an orthodoxy he embraced with his eyes open. The Left yes laughs with George (uncomfortably it must be admitted, made visibly uneasy by his disinterest in the standard narrative of victimization). But the Left isn't outraged by Milo's statements, any more than it is by George's. It's his own people demanding his head. The alt-right can hardly expel George for apostasy, he has never been remotely a member of their fraternity. Even if we accept the equation between George's statements and Milo's, it isn't clear who exactly Milo can claim is treating the two situations differently. If he hadn't done such a bad job of picking his friends, he wouldn't have to give a fuck what people like them think. I am pretty sure George doesn't. hugzu ;-p |
