Start doing moral thought with the conservatives, and you'll find you're taking stands and making enemies...and finding out what TEH GOOD actually is.

'Fraid I have to admit George took precisely the right tone in his telling of the story. Summer Camp is what it is. This kind of thing happens. The "intergenerational" whoopty-do has its moment. Don't try to make it any bigger or smaller than it is. Don't go to extremes to try to stop it, you can't. Don't try to the magic happen after, ahem, a certain age, because IT'S GONE.
