Saw a clip of Milo on Bill Maher's show, as he exchanged barbs with his opponents. Very friendly yet sharp disagreement. Milo showed how it is SUPPOSED to be done. But the moment he declines victimhood - because remember, HE was the 14 year old boy in his story - and the moment he claims that he was not victimized, all hell breaks loose - and some of the people blaming him are the same people who get upset about victimhood culture. It's damned funny. But even as many of Milo's conservative supporters have deserted him, a good many others are defending him in whole or in part. Even those who say this proves that conservatives should have nothing to do with him are mostly defending his right to free speech. Meanwhile, this is opening up discussion about pedophilia. A lot of it is bullshit, but some folks are actually looking things up for themselves. And looking around at the comments sections - there are even a few on the left who have just decided that they like Milo after all. This might be a catalyst for a shakeup of the political parties that is long overdue. The left and right coalitions are holdovers from the cold war, and don't have much holding them together any more. Perhaps Milo will unite those who want to live in a free society where people can have unpopular opinions without fear of censorship or public shaming. At the very least, he has shifted the lines a little. Baldur (visiting from GirlChat) |
