I had seen that hall where boys seem to gather, so why not waiting there. There were a few 10 and under boys (and a girl, but who cares?). They were shy at first, until they noticed I could speak their language and that's hen the question started: who are you, where are you coming from, the usual lot. They plaid hide and seek, then they wanted me to join in a football game, I don't play ball sports. Later, another boy joined, a bit tall for his age, ten years old, very gracious, very elegant, standing up with that extra something that made him stand out in the crowd. He had a new set of badmington rackets and it happened to be a net in the hall. Now badmington I know how to play. Later on, some teens show up, I was afraid they would frighten the youngsters away, instead, they started a giant hide and seek, young and teens together, that was unexpected but fun to watch. Evening was well on, mostly the badmington boy and myself were the only one left, we continued hitting the shuttle until I had to give-up, playing bare foot on concrete was taking it toll on me, and I am not ten anymore. I will never see him anymore, there is no chance, no reason I will, but he help me go through an all afternoon without noticing the hours passing by. And I am abiding to the rules :) |
