i lived in the country, once upon a time,....

not bull. just a massive sow, sitting on the front stoop, scratching herself against the aluminum screen/storm door. Deer in the yard on a rare day. but the biggest find I had was after a long day that was largely unproductive, finding morels of approximately eleven inches with their tops burned off from the sun. we are talking huge. that was back when one little boy neighbor (nephew of one of the boys I ran with back in high school) came over every morning on his little dirt bike when I got off from work. he had very dark hair and usually wore the same yellow speedos. (the first time I saw him, I almost peed myself. it was if the devil was tempting me) during that same time, my oldest sister's boy and his best friend was coming over almost daily. my nephew was blond and beautiful, and his friend was small and dark and set my imagination off. my buddies and my cousin would come over all of the time, to play poker, drink beer, and race my HO afx four lane race track, with semis, cars, and pick-up trucks. me and a couple of other friends would go shooting (I would say hunting, but we rarely killed anything) on weekends, my cousin come wake me up, long before I was ready to roll out of bed, for a pick up football game in the field across from his dad's house that Jack had plowed and disked until it was soft. I had my bells rung too many times because I was the largest player on the field, making me the target. then there were the midnight parties, that some would call orgies with friends from the city, that none of my country friends knew about. you can never convince me that there is not excitement in the country.
