They (at least in this state) have a book of questions that you answer and then they ask you (basically) if you were truthful in your answers. They can spend a lot of time trying to get you to confess to some juicy dirt but stand your ground. A polygraph test is just an intimidation technique used for interrogation. But it sure doesn't hurt to how the tester operates and thinks...

Most important... show up for the "test" early (10-15 min should do) as this demonstrates that you are not dreading your test.
