According to 'people' guns do not kill people... The same can be said for drugs.... No drug ever jumped of the table and injected it's self, popped into the mouth or penetrated the lungs of anyone by it's self... people do that not drugs. Drug dealers would simply not exist if there were no drug addicts. What needs to be done is treat druggies... hell, give them free drugs of their choice (in pharmacies via a smart card for ID/usage info... no criminalization involved, just clean needles or tabs or whatever but administered on the spot and not for 'take-out') Think about it: 1) Free drugs kills the 'drug market' 2) Free drugs in a clean environment (kills off much of the AIDS and other needle transferable diseases) 3) Drops crime rate by a HUGE amount (So much crime is drug related) 4) Spending the billions fighting drug smugglers could be spent on MUCH needed education) Crime rate would drop out dramatically because No or VERY few new drug addicts (No dealers = No free samples by dealers to kids = less addicted kids = no need for dealers) the dealers would go broke (or at least not be able to profit) and leave.... Problem solved. Oh but wait, the druggies keep the economy up and running... private prisons, massive police forces, HUGE budgets, lots of pockets lined... and something to SHIFT THE BLAME TO. Logic never was/is part of the solution... just one more part of the problem. |
