I think historically pederasty has always been masculine and has looked down on effeminate men who have sex with other men.
I'm thinking of classical Greece and the pederasty in the Nazi Brownshirts, who were pretty tough guys. Ernst Rohm the leader of the SA was a well-known pederast.
