Yes, it very much the old passive-active dilemma, which is still a common reason (more than religious ones, if you ask me) for homophobic discrimination. Males "are not supposed" to be passiv, but in a gay relationship at least one of the guys has to be. Many anti-gay slurs are based on this fact.

Here in this example, the boy is seen as an active partner, who "nails" his teacher and so the mainstream is able to overlook the idiocy that someone fathers childern while he's still 12 himself and that his wife has left her old family (with two kids, if I remember it correcty).
