Some of the worse draconian type laws passed in some countries make it illegal to communicate with a child online even if the chat is not sexual in nature *and* it is not necessary for there to be any intent to do anything illegal that could possibly arise out of the chat. So even if you chatted with a child online, in a non-sexual way , and had no intent to do anything, you will still be caught under the laws about online luring. Basically what they do is make laws criminalize *everyone* and then decide which people they don't like and use them to persecute those unfortunate people. So, since we are only hearing about them going after people for luring in cases like this, where the chat was sexual and there was talk of a meeting.. that would be a huge relief. If someone knows about cases where they are using the full power of these extremely harsh laws to persecute people for non sexual/no intent chat I'd like to know about it. |
