You don't need to maintain safe distance from boys, unless you live in the UK! We are not the cursed ones, those who cannot accept us for who we are and how we express our love are the cursed ones.

The ones that get busted are not all 75 or older, some might have acted on temptation, but others might have a consensual relationship but is not allowed because of society's views. Children cannot speak out about their sexual feelings if it is towards older people, or males in our case, usually because those relationships are said to be bad so they may end up thinking they have been abused and tend to 'dob us in' so to speak.

You don't have to be alone, do you have friends that you can spend time with? Maybe at work?
