You can read the testimonials on our website of the MHPs who have attended our workshops. Several of them have said that gained a lot of insights from our workshops and how they look at MAPs has been changed permanently (for the better, or course!) Several notable academics from leading institutions presented at our Symposium where we even weathered the presence of a couple of hostile guests. I guess we might measure success by the increasing numbers of professionals who seek to become involved with us, as well as by acceptance among MAPs. Your support is very important to us and critical to our continued success. I hope more people here will think it over and give it if they have not already done so. As I've said before, the mere idea that Mike Melsheimer was able to get public funding for a program to help MAPs, not control or incarcerate them, is a phenomenal success in my book. I don't believe there is another group, at least not in the US, who can say that. That Michael was quite a character to have pulled that off! I am not sure how many people know this, but our funders, acting in the most cowardly way, decided not to continue funding in the last fiscal year. They waited until Mike died to cut off the funding. We want to fight to get it back, but we are just stretched too thin right now. It would be great if we had a volunteer who was willing to work on and coordinate that effort. (Hint, hint!)
